A large percentage of Eastland Port's current capital projects are centered around improving environmental outcomes, and lessening the environmental impact of the port operation.

Eastland Port sees itself as a key part of the Eastland community, ensuring a self imposed duty to act in an environmentally responsible manner and a clear view that improving the environment for the betterment of the community is part of the port's corporate responsibility.

That is done through a number of ways, and an on-going evolving commitment from all who work at the port.

Bark mulch from the port is recycled and put to good use, with much being donated to worthy community projects. Some is available for sale.
